OVERVIEW
This guide provides instructions for adding closed period Compass financial data to the Finance team Power BI data model.
Data is added using the following steps:
1. Exporting Compass EBI data in the prescribed Finance team export format,
2. Importing the exported data in the step above to Salesforce (to the Compass Actuals object),
3. Refreshing the current fiscal year Excel file on SharePoint with the data added to Salesforce in the step above,
4. Marking the period as closed in Salesforce,
5. Refreshing the Fiscal Periods file on SharePoint with the Salesforce fiscal period data,
6. Refreshing the data model in the Power BI desktop file, and
7. Republishing the Power BI data model.
EXPORTING COMPASS EBI DATA
Compass data for the closed period should be exported using the EBI Revenue and Expense Transaction Detail report in Table
View and containing the 56 standard columns for a Finance team export.
See Finance Team Standard Revenue and Expense Transaction Detail for details of the standard columns
that must be included.
The EBI report criteria should be set as follows:
• Reporting Begin Date and Reporting End Date – The start and end dates of the closed period to import, respectively
• Fund Group – All Column Values (to export transactions on all AAE projects as well as E&G funds)
• Department – AAE’s department range (030000 through 037052)
• All other columns in the criteria should be set to All Column Values:
