The testes (testicles) are the main male sex glands. The prostate and seminal
vesicles are the accessory male sex glands. The ducts of the testes and accessory glands
flow into the urethra.
The scrotum is a leather pouch containing the testes. The external position of the
testes in the scrotum provides favorable temperature conditions for the development of
spermatozoa.
Male germ cells – spermatozoa - develop in the testicles, in addition, sex
hormones (testosterone) are produced. Thanks to male sex hormones, the body is
formed according to the male type (figure 30).
The testis consists of seminal tubules (there are about a thousand of them in each
testis), in which, starting from the period of puberty, sperm cells are formed in large
quantities.
The seminal tubules are connected to the appendage of the testicle (epididymis),
