I can vividly remember my legs shaking under the table in AP Euro my sophomore year. Sitting in that classroom, I felt like an imposter—like I was not smart enough to be there. However, Mr. Schulte helped to pull me out of my shell.
His high expectations and the space for failure he built into the class helped me to grow into an attentive and more thoughtful student. He taught me that you cannot grow in comfortability, a lesson I now try to take into every aspect of my life.
