I learned so much from Mrs. D. I remember being very impressed that Julia Butterfly Hill spent TWO YEARS living in a tree to prevent it from being demolished. I remember learning about the British practice of impressment and how that fueled tensions between Britain and the colonists.
I can’t count how many times I’ve pulled out some history knowledge from fifth grade on a high school test. Mrs. D is also an incredibly talented artist! She’s a true Renaissance woman, and I’m incredibly lucky to have had her.
