31Harvard Archaeologist and Anthropologist Dr. Chris Fisher, is launching an expedition in 2025, to locate, document and analyze some of the most recently discovered and mysterious images. In his previous trip to the area, Dr. Fisher located and recorded the co-ordinates of a new, and as yet, unphotographed, unfilmed and unpublished location in Chiribiquete. The secret location is adorned with a significant quantity of unique pictographs. This film will feature Dr. Fisher%u2019s return to Chiribiquete to study the new site. Together with LiDAR specialist, Ron Chapple, Dr. Fisher will be extending his search for new sites. The imaging technology will be used to scan large portions of the rocks, cave systems and surrounding area in search of archaeological remains and ancient human occupation. LiDAR imaging uses rock penetrating lasers to visualize layers, boundaries and voids in caves and caverns. This technology not only produces spectacular imagery, but it explores and discovers spaces previously thought impenetrable amongst vast geological barriers. This film will Integrate LiDAR technology, scientific research, and the latest CGI to discover, interpret and visualize what could well be one of the world%u2019s most important archaeological discoveries of modern times. This film will provide the canvas for the First 3D Model of Chiribiquete.LiDARWHAT IS LiDAR & HOW WILL IT BE USED?The LiDAR will be used to scan the tepui walls, especially in regions of high pictographic concentration. Much of the paintings decorate caverns, shelters, tunnels and enclaves towards the base of the tepuys formations. This due to the softer types of rock having been eroded by ancient waterways and weather over millions of years. The LiDAR will give us the chance to see what the cave and tunnels system looks like inside the tepuys themselves. Also, over 10 thousand years of human occupation should have yielded more artefacts than have been found... Perhaps they are hidden in the tunnels. As we will peel back the layers of the tepui, we will able to see a 3D model of the completely unknown world of the ancient House of the Gods.Chiribiquete has been occupied by humans for at least 10,000 years. During that time we would expect to find evidence of archaeological evidence of human habitation and culture in addition to cave paintings. Also the Conquistadors burned through the region leaving a trail of stories about densely populated region in this area of the Amazon Rainforest. These and other research is building a consensus that Amazon basin was densely inhabited at some point.A SECRET CIVILISATION OR CITY?
