FitGround at Philip S. Miller Park
The new outdoor exercise and tness course at Miller Park is a huge hit! Located directly across from the 200 step Challenge Hill, check out the newest tness feature at Philip S. Miller Park! City planners know that Castle Rock is a healthy community and makes active living
a priority. In order to meet the needs, the Town partnered with the
Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation to bring an outdoor FitGround
course to Philip S. Miller Park. It o cially opened in October 2010 and provides body-weight and free-form tools for performing resistance exercises designed to build strength, balance, mobility, agility and muscular endurance. It has several challenging tness obstacles, wall climbs, over and under bars, battle ropes and a cargo net climber. I have personally seen persons of all ages and abilities using this new outdoor gym. I recently met a professional athlete from Parker trying out this exercise course. He had nothing but praise for the Town of Castle Rock for having such a state-of-the art facility. The estimated equipment cost is $65,000.

Plum Creek Church, located at 960 Interstate 25, just south of Medved
Auto, has a major construction, expansion project underway and is
about 45 percent complete. Launched as a capital campaign, the
church community project will expand their worship and meeting
space by adding 4,000 square feet of space. The addition is intended
for children’s and student space. The church is also expanding their
parking space capability. On Sundays and during special events/programs, parking is typically at or above capacity and participants must use over ow parking nearby. Once the project is completed, it should alleviate most of the parking issues. That’s a wrap!
