SSOW 037 Winching Towable Equipment
A safe system of work is a formal procedure which results from systematic examination of a task in
order to identify all the hazards. It defines safe methods to ensure that hazards are eliminated or
risks minimized.
PPE! Make sure you have your safety Winch condition: as part of your documented
footwear, bump cap, hi-vis, gloves and checks the winch must be visually check and
harness. subject to function tests
Accessories: in order to safely winch Manoeuvre the Towable plant to align
equipment the vehicle must have the with the centre of the ramp; never
accessories above. These must be in the winch products at an angle.
WPSCR!
Attach the Winch Hook through the Towing Make sure the vehicle bed is clear of
Eye on the Plant. Ensuring the Hook is in the obstructions and sufficient space is available
locked position to secure the ratchet straps.
