A.Calycina A.Grandiflora Amsinckia is a genus of numerous species of flowering plants
commonly known as Fiddleneck. All the plants in this genus are toxic
and have a low to medium toxicity level. Symptoms of poisoning, for
both humans and animals, can be vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea,
drowsiness, difficulty breathing, and lethargy, while some farm live-
stock could suffer serious liver damage. Contact with the skin, can
A.Lycopsoides A.spectabilis cause irritation and in some people blistering, so it’s strongly advised
you wear gloves when handling these plants. Children being much
smaller are more vulnerable to the effects of these plants so both
them and pets should be actively discouraged from going near them.
(Fiddleneck (UK) of the genus Phacelia is nontoxic, but
irritates the skin)
Family:Araceae
A.Porphyrochitonium A.scandens Anthurium, is a genus of numerous species of evergreen flow-
ering plants, commonly known by the name Flamingo flower. All
plants of this genus are toxic and have a low to medium toxicity level.
Symptoms of toxic poisoning experienced by both humans and ani-
mals could be painful swelling and burning in the mouth, difficulty
swallowing, excessive drooling, vomiting, and an upset stomach.
A.polyschistum A.obtusum Contact with the sap of the plant can cause severe skin irritation and
blistering and if it get in the eyes will cause severe stinging and red-
ness. Anthurium is a plant native to the tropical climate of South
America, where it enjoys a huge range of wild habitats. In colder cli-
mates, however, they are popular as houseplants. If kept as a house-
plant, they should be kept at a high elevation or in a restricted area,
out of reach of both children and pets.
Family:Malvaceae
Fremontodendron, is a genus of three known species of flow-
F.Californicum F.Mexicanum ering shrubs commonly known as Flannel bush. All three species of
this genus are toxic to humans and animals and have a low to medi-
um toxicity level. If ingested, toxic poisoning in humans can be; feel-
ing very unwell as your internal organs, like your intestines and
stomach, are put under stress, coping with the toxin. Animals like
cats and dogs, will show distress, excessive drooling, vomiting and
F.decumbens diarrhoea, difficulty breathing and possible collapse. The sap of
these plants is particularly potent and can cause severe, redness,
blistering and irritation to the skin. Keep children and animals away
from these plants, and never handle them unless you are wearing
gloves. Always seek medical help if you suspect toxic poisoning.
