Family:Colchicaceae
G.superba G.modesta
Gloriosa, is a genus of 12 species of herbaceous perennial plants,
commonly known as Glory lily. All plants in this genus are toxic and have
a medium to high toxicity level. Symptoms of toxic poisoning, for both
humans and animals, can be numbness of the lips, tongue, and throat,
excessive salivation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, in-
creased heart seizures, bone marrow failure, and even death. Handling
G.rigidifolia G.baudii the plant, without wearing gloves, especially the tubers, could result in
severe skin irritation. These plants are highly toxic, and if enough is eat-
en, are fatal to both animals and humans. Children should be schooled in
the danger they pose, and actively discouraged from going near them, or
putting any part of them near their mouths. Pets should be kept away
from them and you should always wear gloves when handling them.
Family:Araceae
E.aureum E.Amplissimum Epipremnum is a genus of numerous species of evergreen peren-
nial vines, popularly known as Golden Pothos (Once of the genus Pot-
hos). All plants in this genus are toxic and have a low to medium toxici-
ty level. Symptoms of toxic poisoning, for both humans and animals,
are vomiting, difficulty swallowing, oral irritation and lethargy. Skin
contact with the plants sap can cause skin and eye irritation and some
people may even contract contact dermatitis. Although in their natural

habitat, in the tropical forests across Asia, they climb trees, many, in
more temperate areas, are grown as houseplants. If you have one in
your home you should always remember to wear gloves when handling
it. Keep it at a high elevation, out of the reach of children and pets, or
in an area where they are unable to access it.
Family:Apocynaceae
A.Cathartica A.Blanchetii
Golden trumpet, is a member of the genus Allamanda, which
has about 15 species, of evergreen trees, shrubs, vines, and flowering
plants. All plants of this genus are toxic and have a low to medium
toxicity level. Symptoms of toxic poisoning for both humans and an-
imals can be nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and excessive salivation.
Skin contact with the plants sap can cause severe skin irritation and
contact dermatitis, and should it get into the eyes, cause painful irri-

tation and redness. The spiky fruit these plants produce after flow-
ering, like those of, Allamanda schottii is also toxic and should nev-
er be eaten. Although the symptoms of poisoning are not as severe
as other toxic plants, it will make you feel very unwell. Keep children
and pets away from these plants and always wear gloves when han-
dling them.
