A caterpillar begins its life in an egg. The
adult insect lays its eggs on the leaf of
a plant. When the egg hatches, a tiny
caterpillar comes out and starts to eat
the plant’s leaves. As it grows, the hungry
caterpillar keeps eating leaves.
