On June 5, 2002, the seniors celebrated their graduation at St. Hugh Church. The seniors where dressed in beautiful white
gowns and carried traditional bouquets of roses. As the celebration began, Beatriz Taboas welcomed Sr. Cooke, trustees,
teachers, family and guests as well as her graduating class. Father Robert Vallee delivered a touching homily during which
he talked about the spirit of Sacred Heart education and the responsibilities that the seniors have to the vision of Saint
Madeline Sophie. Another highlight was Alejandra Alberti’s beautiful voice which brought tears to everyone’s eyes when
she sang Hem by Mariah Carey. After the song, Amanda Codina, Vice President of the 2002 class, gave a memorable
speech. She spoke of the wonderful and funny memories at Carrollton. She thanked the teachers who were with seniors
through their highs and lows. The ceremony ended with the seniors walking down the aisle with their diplomas in hand and
big smiles on their faces.
