High School aw ards from....
Elizabeth Masson ‘10 received the Volunteer of the Year award
from Children’s Resources Center School for her work this
past summer and for several years with special needs children;
seniors Jennifer Villa, Elizabeth Valentine and Lauren Correa
were named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship
Competition based on their performance on the 2007 PSAT;
Carrollton seniors Elizabeth Valentine, Lauren Correa, Catherine
Walkington, Dominique Villegas, Andrea Ucar, Monica Maspons,
Lauren Monzon, Stephanie Vara, Natalie Gravier and Jennifer
Villa were recognized at National Hispanic Scholars for their
performance on the 2007 PSAT; Jasmine Johnson was recognized
as a Semifinalist in the National Achievement Program for African
American students based on her performance on the 2007 PSAT;
Anna Dimitrijevic ‘11 earned the national gold medal in the
2009 Le Gran Concours. Michelle Robelo ‘ 11 has been selected
to represent Carrollton at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership
Conference; Gabriela Gonzalez and Stephanie Vara received Gold
Key awards at the Scholastics Art Awards ceremony at the Miami
Art Museum, Emiliana Rubio and Natalia Macias also received
awards; Danielle Gregorie ’10 received honorable mention from
Hollins University for a poem submitted to the Nancy Thorpe
Poetry Contest; Elisabeth Valentine received the Congressional
Medal of Merit given to a senior who is not only an outstanding
student but has demonstrated exemplary citizenship; Kristen Lobo
received the Most Improved Student Award given to a senior who
has dedicated themselves to improving their grades and have
distinguished themselves through tireless pursuit of academic
excellence; The Dade Association of Academic Nonpublic
Schools (DAANS) presented Natalia Macias, Georgia Leigh, and
Catherine Forster with awards for their setting a good example for
others to follow.
