As 1he feast of ChristMas drew Near, the
                                                              coNteiviplatioN of Jesus in his MaNger-bed
                                                              Naturally occupied our thoughts...Our Mother
                                                              put hiM before us iN all his attractive loveliNess.
                                                              At recreatioN she placed on her table a little
                                                              figure of this DiviNe Savior iN order to
                                                              teach us to ceNter our love on HiM as she did.
                                                              She suggested the practice of offeriNg fo HiM
                                                              whatever we were Most attached to...
                                                              Jesus received these first sacrifices through
                                                              the haNds of our superior aNd iN her preseNce
                                                              iN order that. giviNg her our coMplete
                                                              coNfideNce. we Might be More pleasiNg
                                                              iN the sight of hiM who is the perfect Model of
                                                              religious depeNdeNce aNd detachMent.
