O n October 15th, Carrollton Junior
High students joined, sttdentsTrom 19
other local Catholic schools for the 36th
annual Scholastic Olympics presented by
Christopher Columbus High School.
Carrollton students performed .exceptionally
well receiving the following awards:
Art first place Lucia Pineiro and second place Ivelyn Harris; English first place Virginia Moscetti; History first
place Alexa Mora; Math first place Carolina Dowell-Esquivel and third place Cecilia de la Cuardia; Science
first place Olivia Osle and second place Miranda Ortc-ga; Spanish third place winner Alexa Dickinson;
Speech second place Ana Sofia Guerrero Amayo; and General, Skills first place Marian Alcantara, Serena
Co.llarte, Carolina Perez,, Alina Suarez.
(Top) Eighth; Grade students created "book boxes" which
featured quotes, images/ and drawings relating to the
book they selected. Within the container, students placed
six objects o f their choosing that they believed accurately
represented the book. Students also created six flashcards
on which they described what each object symbolized.
International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity courage and collaboration* based on the
book, The Dot. Junior High students created unique dots; representing themselves and leaving their
mark on the world.
