Tidal Waves Make Way For Cyclones

Last year, because of an increasing dissatisfaction with the old mascot,
the Tidal Waves, the Carrollton students asked for a new mascot. The
Spirit Committee took the challenge to organize the selection process for
the new mascot. Various suggestions were taken into account before
Cyclones was voted in as the students' choice. The students felt the need
of a powerful symbol that would represent their strength. Thus, after an
all-school vote, the Cyclones emerged as the winning mascot. The name
seems to be especially appropriate this year after the destruction caused
by Hurricane Andrew with students becoming involved in "Cyclones
Helping Hurricane's Victims."
