Tuesday, January 26, 1993, was an eventful evening
for the Juniors. Seniors, and their families because of
Junior Ring Ceremony. The thirty-six excited Juniors
gathered at St. Hugh Church to receive their Sacred
Heart rings carrying the inscription "Caritas Vincit
Omnia" "Love Conquers All."
The homily given by Father Robert Vallee emphasized
the meaning of the rings through the lives of St.
Madeleine Sophie and St. Rose Philippine Duchesne.
After the homily, Michele Perez, a Senior, gave a
beautiful introduction of the event's significance to
the Seniors.
“Through the ring and all it represents, we are, each
one, parts of the ‘love that conquers all," said Michele
in her speech.
Following the distribution of the rings, where the Juniors
also received yellow roses as sign of friendship from
their Senior ring sisters, Diana de la Torriente gave a
meaningful talk as to what their rings symbolized to the
Juniors.
“This will be our most valuable piece of jewelry." Diana
continued to say that its value comes from its mes
sage, ‘love conquers all."
"This service was beautiful, but what was really special
was that the Juniors and Seniors grew closer togeth
er," said Junior Christine Cover, after the ceremony.
The evening ended in a reception of cake and
refreshments at El Jardin sponsored by the Seniors
where the Juniors started their traditional good-luck
