the actresses took their
positions, the audience
waited quietly, the lights
turned on, and the unfor­
gettable spring production
of Steel Magnolias began on
May seventh and eighth,
directed by Alfonso Ysada.
The actresses displayed
exuberance, enthusiasm,
and great acting abilities in
each of their performances.
The play was a blend of
humor, catharsis, and sis­
