Carrollton High School students
competed against 31 other schools in the
season's first Fairchild Challenge Option
"Florida Ecosystems: Past, Present and
Future" by creating a mini-musical.
Junior Stefani Rey's watercolor
submission for the Fairchild
Challenge was selected to be
shown with the top South Florida
watercolorists' works. Stephani was
one of only six students chosen to
take part in the adult professional
watercolorists' exhibition.
High School students participated in the Environmental Immersion Day Option by
spending the day with Pam Sweeney, manager of Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve. They
not only learned about this important ecosystem, but they performed numerous water
quality tests, and collected species living in the sea grass beds for study.
