Student life is very active in the
p rim a ry gra d es. F irst th ro u g h
fourth graders have the privilege
o f having recess at least on ce a
day. T h e s e students ta k e th eir
break at th e p la y grou n d a fter
lunch w h ere they can en joy C ar
r o llto n g ro u n d s a n d b e g in to
m ake their life long friends. From
fou rth to fifth gra d e th e re is a
trem en d ou s c h a n g e in attitu de
tow ards the school. Students n ow
h a ve th e resp o n sib ility to p r o
duce, direct, w rite, and star in the
fam ou s Fifth gra d e o p era . Th is
p rodu ction takes hours o f hard
w ork and dedication. Students in
Sixth grade have the opportunity
to ex p erien ce the Everglades by
sleeping in cabins and touring the
river o f grass fo r several days.
T h e students are in volved in
m any after sch ool activities w h ere
the foundation fo r friendships and
personal character begin.
