Key Points Summary
1. Some children enjoy secure attachments,
positive experiences & plentiful enrichment
as they grow. This builds strong neural circuitry in the
important areas of Executive Functioning
2. Other children aren’t so lucky. They don’t have such great
experiences or secure attachments. This causes weaker
neural circuitry and means their skills to focus, regulate
feelings, manage impulses and be flexible are weaker. Is this
their fault? No.
3. Some children don’t develop such strong neural circuitry
due to biological neurodiversity (e.g. autism, dyslexia, DCD,
ADHD).
4. Neuroscience has proved that we CAN change and
strengthen our neural circuitry through focus and practice.
