Big Message 3:
It is important to solve problems
and work out how things can be
improved.
Just like the buzzing bee, if there is something that is not ok for you and
you self-soothe but do not solve it for next time, the stress chemicals in
your body will build up. And that isn’t good.
Some children self-soothe enough to stay calm and not ‘run from their
prickles’, but they do not solve the problem. They bury or mask it.
They pretend things are ok. This is not good for the brain.

scared!
Instead of masking or burying, we can learn to:
1. Self-soothe
2. Work out what just made us feel bad
3. Think of ways to improve it for next time
