Working Memory Difficulties Scaffolds
Scaffolds & adjustments for slower processors
▪ Visual reminders – post-its, photographs, lists (where the person looks regularly)
▪ Visual information: graphs, flow charts
▪ Routines and consistent systems
▪ Follow-up emails – don’t rely on holding information
▪ Chunk information / tasks into smaller parts e.g. emails with heading and use of bold
▪ Tapping into strengths e.g. remembering by talking through, having a go rather than
just listening or watching (coach rather than instruct)
