Salem-South Lyon District Library prides itself on offering enhanced storytimes that are literacy focused, and based on the latest early childhood research.
Family Fun
Enjoy stories and songs for the whole family. For ages 0-5 with a caregiver. Registration required, please register each child individually. Tuesdays at 10:15 AM

Battle Informational Meeting
Tuesday, January 18, 6:00 - 6:30 PM Grades 4 - 12
Battle of the Books, designed for kids to have fun reading and competing with their peers. We are looking for teams of 4 or less to compete in the Battle of the Books at the Library. The Battle is broken into age groups (4th grade, 5th grade, 6th - 8th grades,
and 9th - 12th grades). To learn more, attend the informational meeting. Book titles will be announced at the meetings.

Join your community in reading a special book. Beginning Monday, January 17, stop by the Library to check out a copy of the book. There will be a discussion guide
available to encourage family engagement.

Join us as Michigan Science Center presents this action packed program. Why do things explode? Learn about the relationships between pressure, temperature, and fuel to explain why things go KA-BOOM! We’ll mix physics and chemistry to get some loud, flashy effects! Registration required.

Warm up this winter with STEAM activities at the library. Children can explore the different science, technology, engineering, art, and math stations. Stations will include the library’s technology manipulative collection, building blocks, and more.
Open Spot Theater Workshop
Thursday, February 24, 2:00 - 3:00 PM Grades 2nd - 8th
Singing, dancing, writing, and acting! Kids have the chance to showcase their talent or test their skills in this introductory theater workshop. At the end of the hour participants will be able to perform their original play for an audience (caregivers, this means you!). Registration required.
Bring your child to the library to create a special gift for Mom or Grandma. Registration required.
