Animal Adaptations

Habitat: the environment where a living organisms live.

            Animal                       Adaptation

                                        -Penguin is a non-flying bird.
                                 -Habitat: (Antarctica) polar climate.

            Penguin              -Body is covered with thick feathers
                                 and fat to keep its body warm.

                                         -Its feet have no feathers.

                                 -Blood vessels in its feet are wrapped
                                 around each other to allow heat to
                                 transfer from warm blood vessels into
                                 cold blood vessels.
                                 -Habitat: (Arctic) Polar habitat

Polar bear                       -It has thick white fur
                                 Thick fur to keep warm
                                 White fur to hide in the snow to sneak
                                 up on its prey.

Predator: The animal that hunts
    and eats another animal.

Prey: The animal that is hunted and eaten.
