YWCA Offers WomenMorning ProgramsDowntown Homemakers, a program for women specifically geared for young mothers and their preschool children, will hold registration for classes in early March. Women can sign up for a creative, recreational or educational course while their youngsters play in Y.W. supervised nurseries.Classes are given Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. This term Monday courses include Yoga and Dance Exercises, Crocheting for Beginners & Intermediates, T%u2019ai Chi Ch%u2019uan, which is a traditional Chinese system of physical and mental discipline, Basic Finance for Women, Sketching & Painting for Beginners & Intermediates, Elegant Cooking for Everyday.Also on Mondays the Y.W. holds an Education Workshop, in which the group studies possible alternatives to the Public School system of education. This Workshop is free to Y.W. members, although there is a charge for Nursery if needed.Tuesday program consists of courses in Enameled Silver Jewelry, Spanish for Beginners, Astrology, Tennis and a combination course called Yoga, Dance and Dip, consisting of 45 minutes of exercises followed by 45 minutes of Dance or a dip in the Y.W. pool. There will be a free Crafts Workshop on Tuesdays, teaching Batik, Quilting and Crocheting. Women can learn these crafts while working on things for the Y.W. Christmas Shop. Y.W. will provide all supplies.
