The Center%u2019s new building was dedicated on May 20.John R. Rein, Jr., has been named to the post of Administrative Director of the Center. Rein has been Business Administrator for three non-profit housing corporations including the Park Slope North Improvement Corporation, the East 120th Street Improvement Corporation, and the Community Improvement Corporation of Manhattan. He is agraduate of St. John%u2019s University with a B.S. Degree in Marketing, and is presently working towards a Masters Degree in Business Administration at St. John%u2019s.Mrs. Adele B. Toussaint, who for more than seven years has been teaching and directing day care center activities in BedfordStuyvesant and Ocean-Hill Brownsville, has been named Educational Director of the new Center. Mrs. Toussaint is a graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C., with a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education, and is presently a candidate for a Masters Degree in the same field at Hunter College.The Child Development Center,SimplifiedUnit PricingShoppers who want to keep their food budget out of the red are now seeing orange under new rules adopted by the Department of Consumer Affairs to simplify unit pricing.'The amended regulations now provide that the price per measure must be printed on an orange background on the shelf labels which are required to be displayed in all large supermarkets in New York City.one of the first to be erected in the City of New York under the State Youth Facilities Improvement Act of 1969, was financed by a mortgage loan of $1,480,000 from the New York State Housing Finance Agency. Operations will be funded through a contract with the City Department of Social Services.The sponsor of the project is the Park Slope North Child Development Center, Inc., composed of two local churches, St. Augustine%u2019s Roman Catholic Church and St. John%u2019s Episcopal Church, and the Frederick W. Richmond Foundation.The three-story building at 71 Lincoln PI. was designed by Beyer, Blinder, Belle, architects and planners, and has been planned topermit utilization on weeknights and weekends for Park Slope community organizations.
