We canput them on assignment quickly.However, we will train those adultswho can demonstrate good aptitudes for this demanding phoneservice,%u201d he said. %u201cWe will interview anyone interested intrying ; but we can enlist only thosevolunteers who prove they canperform in the stress of this lifesaving operation.%u201dThe shift when volunteers areneeded most is during the eveningfrom six until ten p.m. Normalshifts will be for two hours; andvolunteers can receive policeescort service to and from theirhomes.
