Put together by Third World Studies teacher Anne Hubbard, with the assistance of teachers Ciano, Bosch, Berry and Barberi, the performance centered on seamstress Rosa Parks%u2019 seat with whites in the front of a bus, and the emergence of King as a leader during the controversy that ensued. When we arrived in the small room used as a court the attorney presiding in place of a judge questioned the judge%u2019s permission for us to act without an attorney inasmuch as we represented a corporation. His remark %u201c So you%u2019re going to play attorney, huh?%u201d fell on my ears with the deadening sound of defeat. I knew that my goose (and my money) was cooked. The plaintiff was suing for $103.18. Forty-five dollars for the flowers, and get this, the rest for overtime for the minister, the choir, the sexton and the cost of the summons. Imagine my chagrin at not being permitted to question the plaintiff. So help me! The %u201c judge%u201d demanded to know where my driver was and why he hadn%u2019t been brought in to court. %u201c How do we know that you even attempted to deliver the flowers?%u201d The fact of the error given us in the address was completely ignored as well as the question of why she had time to go out and buy new flowers from another florist, but no time to call us and ask where they were.GOP ClubThe formation of the John J.
