In their first appearance in theLepercq Space, BAM%u2019s new nonproscenium performance area, the Cunningham Company will present Events No. 89 and No. 90 simultaneously with David Tudor%u2019s %u201cRainforest 2%u201d. This will be theBerkeley Faculty, Students and Parents Rehearse As You Like It'Islay Benson, drama coach of The Berkeley Institute Drama Club, announces rehearsals for its forthcoming production of William Shakespeare%u2019s %u201cAs You Like It%u201d are underway. The play will be given at the school, 181 Lincoln Place, on the Feb. 28 and March 1.The make-up of the cast is innovative being composed of a large number of male faculty members, fathers, and even a faculty husband! (Thomas Rexdale, husband of pre-school teacher Elaine Rexdale, is a tenor who has sung with the Metropolitan.) Forthe first time, in addition, seventh and eighth graders are being encouraged to be active in the production on both sides of the footlights, and are making valuable contributions already.Students in the cast are Angela Caracciolo, Bernadette Drayton, Robert Evans, Lisa Egly, Beth Feldman, Jeanne Gagne, Kim Holtan, Louis Lanier, Jeffrey Nehrbas, William Raskin, Scott Yarmus, Zelda Tetenbaum, Evan Vogel, Robert Withers and Joanne Zeller. The musicians will hang such items as the following, from the ceiling: a used rainbarrel, an iron hoop from a carriage wheel, bedsprings, a toilet plunger, various types of cables and springs and probably gongs. Vibrators vibrate in response to the sound, thus forcing the instruments to make other sounds. This music is very soft and contact mikes must be used to help the instruments amplify themselves. The musicians will be David Behrman, Linda Fisher, Ralph Jones and Gordon Mumma.Dancing with Mr. Cunningham will be Valda Setterfield, Meg Harper, Susana Hayman-Chaffey, Julie Roess-Smith, Kathy Kerr, Ellen Cornfield, Chris Komar, Brynar Mehl, Robert Kovich and Charles Moulton.Tickets for the performance are $5.00 Curtain time for both evenings is 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the BAM box office, A&S, Bloomingdale%u2019s and Ticketron.
