Mangano, Democratic State Committeeman from the 52nd Assembly District and Cadman Plaza resident, reports that efforts are underway to correct the problems caused by the sudden relocation of polling precincts during elections last year.Our Lady of Lebanon Church abruptly canceled its leases with the Board of Elections, causing a last-minute shift in polling places from Henry and Remsen Streets to P.S. 8 at the other end of the Heights in voting in 1973.Mangano says that he has been working with Republican leader George Spanakos of Brooklyn Heights to locate the three voting districts-the 7th, the 12th, and the 14th-at the St. George Hotel, as the most convenient available spot.%u201cWe have been looking at a number of possible locations to recommend to the Board of Elections,%u2019%u2019 said Mangano, %u201cbut the St. George seems to be the most convenient to the widest number of people.%u201d The Bossert Hotel, closer to the bulk of the voters, said it was not interested in such a lease, saidthe Democratic leader.One election district captain.
