(Neuhauser Photo)Graduate at KingsboroKingsborough Community College inManhattan beach will conduct its 21st commencement exercises (h i June 16, at 11am.The commencement address will be given bySandra Feldman, president of the UnitedFederation of Teachers, AFL-CIO, and otherorganizations.Also speaking at the event will be Congressmen Charles Schumer and StevenSolarz, Borough President Howard Golden,Edith Everett of the City University Board ofTrustees and Prof. Stuart Suss of KCC. Provost Michael Zibrin will present thegraduates, and Vice President Israel Glasserwill introduce the valedictorian, ReginaWalsh, who is graduating with a 4.0 averagein Liberal Arts.Walsh is planning to continue her studiestoward a B.A., then toward an M.A. andPh.D. in clinical psychology, and is nowdeciding between three senior colleges whichhave offered her places in the fall.Kingsborough will graduate 1200 studentsthis spring, all of whom have earned anAssociate Degree in one of 28 registered programs. Since its first graduating class in1986, KCC has awarded degrees to over %u00a31,000graduates.Jessie Jackson at EversMedgar Evers College will hold its 1986Commencement on June 14 at 11am whenmore than 300 graduates hear an address bythe Rev. Jesse Jackson, the 1984 contenderfor president and now head of the RainbowCoalition. The Medgar Evers graduatesrange in age from 20 to 59 years old, andmany have been accepted to graduateschools or have already found jobs.Dr. Jay Carrington Chunn II, Evers%u2019 president, hasn%u2019t waited for the event, however, topraise the graudates %u201cfor their persistence,academic and social successes.%u201dThe commencement exercises will be heldon the Crown Heights campus at Carroll St.and Nostrand Ave. Four students will behonored with Presidential Plaques at thistime.Adelphi Hears DiplomatAdelphi Academy will hold its 116th commencement on June 16 at 7pm. The ISgraduates will be addressed by AmbassadorAngier Biddle Duke and educational leaderDr. Arthur G. Powell. The event will be atUnion Church, 8101 Ridge Boulevard.Duke, who has served as Ambassador tofour countries will address the issue of globaleducation which has become a controversialsubject recently. Dr. Powell, a leader in the,country%u2019s educational reform, will presenthis views on secondary education in Americatoday.The year 1906 marks the completion of theschool%u2019s second year as a member of theCoalition of Essential Schools. Graduates willbe studied for the next decade as part of thisplan to study the effectiveness of an Adelphieducation. This year%u2019s class valedictorian isEmilia F.
