Plotz, M.D., chairman of the Department of Family Practice at State University Health Science Center in Brooklyn, has been elected an honorary member of the Japan Rheumatism Association, an appointment shared by only four others in the United States. The president of the New York Arthritis Foundation was honored for his extensive research in arthritis, including his discovery of the latest fixation reaction, a universal standard test for rheumatoid arthritis. This latest appointment adds to his honorary memberships in the French, Mexican, Brazilian and Yugoslav Rheumatism Associations.Fred L. Price, former Special Assistant to the previous President of the New York City Council, Carol Bellamy, was recently appointed Manager of Public Information at Con Edison, Brooklyn Division. The Clinton Hill resident is also an appointed member of the Brooklyn Advisory Board to the State%u2019s Commission on Human Rights.Several teachers at Saint Ann%u2019s School have received recognition for their service.
