                                    Signs to Change Slope Parking RulesHeights Councilmember Abe Gerges announced that the installation of approved signs reducing alternate side Darking regulations for an area bounded by Flatbush Avenue, Berkeley Piace and Fourth Avenue has been delayed until September.%u201cAfter contacting the Department of Sanitation I have been informed that the contractor is expected to begin installation of these signs in September,%u201d Gerges said.The Councilman added that he had previously been informed that the signs would be in place in June, but was told by the Department of Sanitation that the contract for the signs has just been awarded.%u201cI hope these signs will be installed as expeditiously as possible so the residents of Park Slope will not be inconvenienced any further,%u201d Gerges said. %u201cI plan to keep in contact with the Department of Sanitation tourge them to complete this contract as promised.%u201dThe new restriction will affect the following streets: Berkeley Place, Lincoln Place and St. John%u2019s Place from Fourth Avenue to Plaza Street West; Sterling Place, P a rt Place, Prospect Place, St. Mark%u2019s Place, Bergen Street, Dean Street and Pacific Street from Fourth Avenue to Flatbush Avenue; Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Avenues from Berkeley Place to Flatbush Avenue, and Plaza Street East from Flatbush Avenue to Berkeley Place.Caribbean Business Expo Coming July 25-26Brooklyn%u2019s Second Annual CaribbeanAmerican Business Exposition will be July 25 and 26 and is planned to promote President Ronald Reagan%u2019s Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI), according to Dora Carbonell, Chairperson of the event. One of the perpetrators then displayed a handgun and demanded all the money. After getting $50, they fled, making the victim wait in the bathroom til they were gone. The robbery occurred June 23 at 1:45 am.ROUGH TALK: A 25-year-old woman resisted robbery when two male blacks approached her, saying they wanted to talk to her on June 21 at W. 9th and Court Sts. After struggling, they punched her in the left eye and fled.CAUGHT IN ACT: 21-year-old Jennifer Mucci of Dikeman St. was arrested in Red Hook%u2019s Coffey Park June 24 at 2:50pm for possesion of a hypodermic needle. At the time she was caught, she was in the process of injecting a controlled substance into herself.HUNGRY TOO: Two young thieves grabbed a 13 year-old delivery boy by the coat and stole $10 and the Chinese food he was delivering at 9:15pm on July 4th on the comer of Court and Butler Sts.REACHING OUT: Louis Cintron was arrested on July 4th at 9:57pm after removing varied cordless and other telephone systems from a corporation on Hamilton Ave. between Smith and Hoyt Sts.STOPPED ON RED: A 31 year-old female stopped for a red light on the comer of Bond near Baltic St. and was robbed by a male who jumped into her car, put a knife to her chest, and stole $20, gold chains and rings, and her car keys. The incident occurred on July 6 at 6:30am.LIQUID WEAPON: A man threw a glass of turpentine at a woman he allegedly knew before snatching her purse on July 6 at 2am on Hoyt St. between Baltic and Butler Sts. This case of grand larceny has been turned over to the detectives of the 76th precinct.PARK BENCH ASSAULT: An intoxicated man sitting on a park bench on Columbia St. was attacked for no apparent reason on July 8, lam, when an unknown perpetrator hit him in the ribs with a club. The 30-year-old man was sitting drinking beer at the time of the assault.THREE ON BIKES: A 24 year-old man returning on his bike from picking up hispayroll and bank checks was stopped by two males on dirt bikes. One knocked him off his bike, stole the checks and both fled. The crime occurred on July 11 at noon on the corner of Hamilton and Smith Sts.HOSPITAL-BOUND VICTIM: A 62 yearold woman on her way to the hospital on Atlantic and Henry St. was robbed of her wallet, $151, medicaid papers, and $116 in foodstamps on July 9 at 4:30pm.FOOD AND MORE: A corporation on Columbia between Union and Sackett Sts. was robbed of its slicing machine, matt machine and soda, meat and tunafish when a robber broke through its rear wall on July 3 at 4pm.EMPTY MACHINES: A laundromat on Smith St. was broken into on July 6 at 7:30pm when a thief forced open the front door and pried open five washing machines, all of which already had the change removed.GARAGE HOLD-UP: A man with a 9 millimeter automatic gun entered a garage on Butler St. on July 6 at 11:50am and told the 30 year-old man working there to turn around. He took $50 from the victim%u2019s wallet and fled.RELIGIOUS SENIOR: A female senior citizen walking home from Long Island College Hospital on July 5 at 7:30pm at Hicks and Union Sts. was grabbed by the neck from behind. The two perpetrators then stole her gold chain and various medallions, religious medals and a gold cross.FROM A BICYCLE: On July 1, at 8:45pm, a 31-year-old female was standing at Garfield and Eighth Avenue when a Made male, about 18-years-old road up on his bicycle and grabbed a gold chain from the woman%u2019s neck. Hie thief is still at large.AND AGAIN: On July 2, at 9:20pm, a Made male approximately 18-20 years-old pulled a gold chain from a 36-year-old female%u2019s neck while she was standing at the corner of Eighth Avenue and 8th Street.
