                                    South Africa Mass HeldA special Mass For Peace And Justice InSouth Africa will be celebrated at St. Paul%u2019sEpiscopal Church, 199 Carroll Street, Saturday, July 26,1986, at 5pm. %u201c All are invited tothis service, to pray for an end to the worsening oppression and bloodshed in SouthAfrica,%u201d says Tim Dlugos, one of theparishioners.Preaching at the mass will be The Rev.Kenneth N. Carstens, a native of South Africaand a Methodist minister, who is executivedirector of the International Defense and AidFund for Southern Africa. Headed byAnglican Archbishop Trevor Huddleston, thefund supports the families of South Africanpolitical prisoners, and helps to defend thosewho face imprisonment and death because ofthe opposition to apartheid. The celebrant ofthe mass will be The Rev. Samuel 0. Cross,rector of St. Paul%u2019s.The offertory collection at the service willbe donated to St. Paul%u2019s Anglican Church andConference Center in Soweto, South Africa, tohelp in the reconstruction of their buildings,which were firebombed on June 17th byunknown persons. %u201cSt. Paul%u2019s, Soweto, haslong been a center of the Church%u2019s struggle toresist and to change the un-Christian policyof apartheid that is enforced by the SouthAfrican government,%u201d says Dlugos.
