Oregon Backroads Guide To the Pacific Crest Trail
Ed McBee, who currently lives in Southern Oregon, has always had
a love for the high country. Traveling the mountains of the Cascades
and Sierras, he has explored some of the most beautiful and remote
landscapes in the American west, afoot, afloat, and a-wheeled. McBee’s
initial goal was to poke and prod every corner of the Pacific Northwest
from Alaska to California, at one time dreaming of hiking the 2650-
mile length of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from Mexico to Canada.
He has been lucky to have the health and time (over 40 years) to explore
large portions of the PCT, but has resigned himself to the probability
that hiking the entire trail probably isn’t in his future.
