On Tuesday of Week 7, the Primary College (joined by the
Kadina Preschool Centre) had the opportunity to attend
the Wipe Out Waste show. KESAB’s entertaining and
interactive performance by Bright Spark Entertainment
covered reducing food packaging in schools, recycling
systems, and use of the four-bin system. Students
were wowed by the Waste Wizard, who explained the
importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling.

Wipe Out Waste
It has been a wonderful term of learning and fun in the Diverse Education class. We have had lots of fun learning through hands-on activities!
In Science, we explored Seasons and Temperature. The students had fun using thermometers to measure hot and cold water and ice, discovering what happens when we add ice to warm water. We also wrote step-by-step instructions on how to build a snowman, made some ‘snow’, and crafted our own snowmen! As we transitioned into
learning about Spring, we took a nature walk to spot all the new things this season brings, and brightened our classroom by creating beautiful flowers. We even melted our frozen snowmen to show what happens when Winter turns to Spring!
In Life Skills, we focused on Community Helpers. The students enjoyed dressing up and exploring different professions, imagining what they want to be when they grow up. We had special visits from Police Sergeant Hawkes and Firefighter Mr Boraso, who talked about their important roles in our community. The students were thrilled to see a real police car and fire truck up close!
