In Terms 3 and 4, our students have been exploring how Christians serve the broader community. Through research and discussions, they brainstormed ways to make a positive impact. Ultimately, the students decided to bake ANZAC biscuits to share on Remembrance Day as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
To deepen their understanding of the day, they spent time learning about the history of Remembrance Day, including the significance of poppies. The students crafted beautiful poppy wreaths, which became part of their tribute.
On Remembrance Day (Monday of Week 5), they attended the Kadina service, and had the honour of laying their handmade wreaths at the memorial. They also distributed the freshly baked ANZAC biscuits.
The project was a meaningful experience, allowing students to engage in service, and reflect on the importance of remembrance.
