Mr. D rury : I also have a letter from Edwin E. Bartlett, of
December 9th, which is as follows:
“Gentlemen:
I have, during the past few months, received quite a number
of letters and have had various talks with dealers and members
of the National Supply & Machinery Dealers Association in regard
to maintaining a re-sale price on my line of Arbor Presses. After
giving this matter full consideration I have decided that my Arbor
Presses shall be sold by the Trade to the users or consumers at
not better than five per cent discount from the list price, except
ing the No. 8 Press which shall not be sold for a better price than
ten per cent discount or $315.00. These prices are f. o. b. Boston,
or f. o. b. city where stock is carried. I will ask you to maintain
these prices, and will say further, that if these prices are not
maintained, I shall reserve the right to withdraw my quotations
at any time. I feel that the various dealers and members of the
Association will appreciate my efforts in this direction, and I shall
be pleased to be advised of your hearty co-operation in working
with me to push the sale of my product and to maintain a re-sale
price. I will be pleased to hear from you at your early conven
ience. These prices go into effect Jan. 1, 1906.
Very truly yours,”
