“Barry, Bald Eagles and Bagels” at Temple Emanu-El
The Brotherhood of Temple Emanu-El announces that Barry Gerber,
Florida Master Naturalist and Temple Emanu-El President, will be the
guest speaker at this special event. He will offer a fascinating presentation
about the bald eagle in this area, including where to see and little-known
facts about this magnificent symbol of the United States of America. A
deluxe bagel-and-lox breakfast at 9:30 a.m. precedes the talk at 10:00
a.m. The event takes place at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road,

The Jewish Congregation of Venice will present a documentary via Zoom

People of the Book Event

When most home cooks think of Jewish food, a few classics come to mind:
matzo ball soup, brisket, challah and maybe a babka if you’re feeling
ambitious. But as food writer and self-described nice Jewish boy Jake
Cohen demonstrates in his stunning debut cookbook (Jew-ish), Jewish
food is so much more. The event takes place from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at
Temple Emanu-El (151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota) and on Zoom. Be there
when Sarasota Chef Judi Gallagher not only gets the dish on Jake, but
the dish on his dishes. In-person attendees will indulge in a treat from a
recipe in the book (depending on health and safety regulations). Books
will be available for purchase and signing at the venue. In-person tickets
are $25 per person ($30 at the door); $10 per household on Zoom. To
