of nearly 20,000 Jewish refugees who fled Nazi-occupied Europe during
World War II to the Chinese port city of Shanghai. Sigmund Tobias, a local
member of our Sarasota community, is one of the refugees featured. He
will also participate in “Stories from Shanghai,” a personal discussion via
Zoom on Tuesday, November 17.
