Death and the Rest – in Peace”
This four-week course is not a philosophical one, but an experiential one.

Brandeis Art in the Afternoon
Please join Brandeis National Committee (BNC) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. for the first in a series of three luncheon programs this season. We
will meet at the Meadows Country Club (3101 Longmeadow, Sarasota) Your Musical,
at 11:00 a.m. for the program followed by lunch. We will view the film
Strictly Ballroom, a ballroom dance classic directed by Baz Luhrmann. Comedy, Drama
Carole Kleinberg will facilitate the discussion following the film. Tickets

Aviva Classical Concert Series:
Marco A. Jimenez on Piano Destination!
Marco Jimenez gave his first recital at Aviva when he was eight years old and
is now a first-year student in the Columbia-Juilliard Program in New York.
He participates in master classes for the piano, plays violin in the orchestra,
is part of a piano quartet and performs with Columbia’s Chamber Ensemble.
An exemplary pianist, he will play a repertoire of classical favorites at Aviva
Senior Living, Kretzmer Center, 1951 N. Honore Ave., Sarasota. This free

Aviva Author’s Showcase: Francis Gary Powers Jr.
Francis Gary Powers Jr. is the co- author of Spy Pilot: Francis Gary Powers,
the U-2 Incident, and a Controversial Cold War Legacy. The movie Bridge
of Spies was based on the book. The lecture will provide an overview of
what it was like to grow up in the shadow of a famous Cold War figure
and the author’s search for the truth after his father’s death in 1977. A book
signing will follow the presentation. This free event is open to the public
and begins at 7:00 p.m. at Aviva Senior Living, Kretzmer Center, 1951
