Coneflowers: natural wildflowers
Who can resist this much charm and perfection? With their tapered flower
petals, straight stems, full and rounded hearts, coneflowers, aka Echinacea,
are truly extraordinary. Native to North America, they were long ago tamed
to grace our sunny flowerbeds. Traditional coneflowers may be pink or purple,
but other cultivars have come on the scene with an enlarged palette: red, white,
yellow and orange. These flowers are beloved by butterflies, bees
and herbalists too.
