We would like to thank the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation U.S. (KUAUF) and
Pacific Forum, whose dedication and support were crucial to the publication of
this book.

Special thanks also to Professor Hackyoung Bae from the Research Institute
for National Security Affairs (RINSA), Department of Military Strategy, Korea
National Defense University (KNDU) and his team from RINSA, who along with
KUAUF personnel were engaged in assembling the authors for this book, and
establishing a creative dialogue with the authors whose papers make up the
contents of the book.

The editor, Pacific Forum President Emeritus Ralph Cossa, brought his expert
skills and knowledge to devise the theme and shape the contents of the book for
publication.

The authors comprise a unique group of experts whose contributions are
making an influential and lasting impact on one of the outstanding geopolitical
problems of our age. We cannot thank them enough.
