I am honored to be writing to you today and wish I could be there in person. T ank you
for championing one of the most important issues in today’s day and age.

As you advocate on behalf of people who can’t advocate for themselves, you are promoting
integrity and decency around the world. Having basic human rights should not be
controversial no matter where you live, and you are making a momentous impact on
those who can’t f ght for their rights. Because of ef orts like yours, I remain hopeful that
everyone will have the basic rights they are entitled to and will continue to f ght alongside
you in Congress.
