Frequently Asked Questions

Which class should I take first?
Follow your plan of study. Your program has prerequisite requirements and established core
classes, followed by opportunities to specialize through a variety of electives. You don’t need to
complete all prerequisite classes before starting on your core classes. Be sure to complete all of a
specific class’s prerequisites before attempting to register for that class.

What do I do if I forget my LDAP username or password?
You can find your LDAP username and password on your acceptance letter or you can
contact our I.T. Help Desk at helpdesk@kettering.edu or by phone at (810) 237-8324.

What is considered full-time status?
Taking eight credits per academic term is considered full-time status. Any fewer credits per
academic term is considered part-time.

How do I view video streamed lectures?
You can see all the resources for a particular class on Blackboard. Many classes use recorded
video lectures along with supporting materials such as PowerPoint slides, discussion boards,
handouts and simulations. Be sure to review and understand each syllabus, assignment due
dates, and the professor’s preferred method of communication.
