CRITICAL ILLNESS
Accident and Critical Illness Insurance
Why Voluntary Benefits?
TVS SCS NA continues to provide extended voluntary coverage through
Guardian for accident and group critical illness insurance. It can be hard
to budget for life’s unexpected emergencies and these coverages are a
great tool to ensure you are inancially ready. These can help protect your
inances from the uncertainty of the future and give you a little peace of
mind. A deduction will automatically come from your paycheck if you
choose to elect either of these offerings.
Off-the-Job Accident Insurance
Off-the-job accident insurance will reimburse expenses you incur from an
accident or injury whether it is a simple sprain or something more serious,
such as an injury from a car accident. Your plan may pay you a beneit for
an emergency room treatment, stitches, crutches, injury-related surgery,
and many other accident-related expenses. The money is paid directly to
you, and you decide how to spend it. In addition, you may also purchase
coverage for your spouse and dependent children.
Group Critical Illness Insurance
What is a critical illness? Some common examples are heart attack,
stroke, and cancer. The medical treatment for these conditions can be
very expensive. Critical illness insurance can help by paying a lump sum
payment directly to you at the irst diagnosis of a covered condition.
You decide how to spend it. You can also purchase coverage for your
spouse and dependent children. If you did not elect coverage when
initially eligible, a health questionnaire will be required to be approved
for coverage.
Rates will vary depending on age. Please see Human Resources for
