Enrolling Outside of Your DISABILITY COVERAGE
New Hire Period What would happen if you couldn’t go to work as

If you do not elect voluntary life or disability
coverage within the irst 31 days of becoming irst a result of a disabling illness or accident? Disability

Voluntary Short Term Disability

This plan covers 60% of your pre-disability earnings up

15th day of your disability.


Voluntary Long Term Disability
Long term disability replaces a portion of your income
for a longer period than short term disability covers.
The plan covers 60% of your monthly salary up to a
speciic monthly maximum. LTD beneits are payable
until you are no longer disabled or reach Social Security
Normal Retirement Age.



Important Note About Disability
Benefits

Disability beneits are subject to applicable taxes and
are offset by any other income or disability beneits you
receive (or are eligible to receive), such as Social Security
and worker’s compensation.
