PAID TIME OFF




HIMSS recognizes the need for flexibility in your time away from work. To promote a healthy work-life
balance, HIMSS provides eligible employees with Paid Time Off in the following ways: Discretionary Time Off,
Holidays, Vacation, and Volunteer Time Off.


DISCRETIONARY TIME OFF PAID HOLIDAYS

Regular, full-time employees and regular, part-time Eligible HIMSS employees will be paid for
employees who are scheduled to work 30 hours or 11 holidays each year:
more per week are eligible for paid discretionary ƒ New Year’s Day
leave. Upon the successful completion of the
introductory period, a regular, full-time employee ƒ Martin Luther King Day
will begin to accrue five hours of discretionary ƒ Memorial Day
leave at the end of each full month of service, ƒ Independence Day
up to a maximum of eight (7.5 hours per day) ƒ Labor Day
discretionary days per calendar year. Discretionary
leave will not accrue while an employee is on a ƒ Thanksgiving Day
short- or long-term disability leave or a workers’ ƒ Day After Thanksgiving
compensation leave. Discretionary leave may ƒ Christmas Eve Day

VOLUNTEER TIME OFF
Discretionary leave may be used for the following
purposes: HIMSS volunteer program is designed to support

ƒ Employee illness and healthcare appointments volunteer activities that enhance and serve the
communities in which we live and work. The
ƒ Dependent illness and healthcare appointments intention of this program is to create community

ƒ Dependent care emergencies engagement opportunities for HIMSS employees
