Voluntary Short Term
Disability
If you’re unable to work due to a sickness or injury, short term
disability insurance can help you maintain your standard of living.
It can help you pay bills such as your mortgage, tuition, and car
payments, and help cover expenses for food, clothing, and utilities. By
replacing a portion of your income, short term disability insurance
can help provide inancial security until you get back on your feet and
return to work.
You may enroll for short term disability coverage through Lincoln
Financial. The plan covers 60 percent of your pre-disability earnings
(including commissions) up to $1,500 per week for a maximum of 13
weeks. The cost of the plan is paid on a post-tax basis so beneits will
be paid tax-free. Your coverage begins on the irst day of a disability
due to an accident and the eighth day of a disability due to a sickness.
Pre-existing condition limitations may apply. Voluntary STD costs
$0.70 per $10 of weekly beneit coverage.
