Affordable Care Act Coverage Mandate
Important Individuals are required to maintain minimum essential coverage for
Information themselves and their dependents in accordance with the Affordable
About Your Care Act. To help ensure AAF employees are complying with this
provision, all employees who are waiving coverage under the AAF plan
Beneits must complete the online afidavit on the Benetrac site stating that
Defensive Coordination of AAF coverage is being waived in favor of other creditable coverage.
Benefits
AAF requires a Spousal Coordination
of Beneits. This means while AAF is
committed to offering a comprehensive
beneit package to you and your family,
AAF also realizes many spouses have
medical coverage available to them
through their own employer. Coverage
for full-time working spouses under the
AAF medical plan will only be available
on a coordinating basis.
Opt Out Incentive
AAF offers an opt-out incentive. This
means employees who elect not to take
AAF’s medical coverage will receive
a $1,000 credit for employee only
coverage and $1,500 for employee
plus dependent coverage. This credit is
considered a taxable beneit by the IRS.
Tobacco Surcharge
Employees who self-identify as tobacco
users will be assessed a $15 per month
tobacco surcharge on their medical
premiums.
